Rental cost

We quote the most economical rental tier for your dates

Rates are not a flat daily multiplication. If a week costs less than your day count, you are charged the week. The estimator below applies the same rule we apply on your quote, so an extra day never spikes the price.

Estimate your rental

  • Receiver rentalβ€”
  • Estimated rental totalβ€”

Enter your rental length to see the applicable tier.

Estimate only β€” excludes shipping and tax. The refundable security authorization is held separately and is not a rental charge. Controllers and other accessories are quoted with your rental. Send us your dates and we will confirm availability and the final rate.

Need multiple receivers? Fleet rates are available for multi-unit rentals β€” tell us how many units and how long, and we will quote it.

Process

Rent survey equipment in minutes

No drawn-out rental process. If the equipment is available and your rental is approved, we can prepare and ship quickly.

Step 1

Choose your equipment

Pick the receiver and the rental length. Rates are on this page β€” nothing to request first.

Step 2

Tell us where and when

Project dates and the delivery ZIP or postal code. That is enough for us to confirm availability.

Step 3

We configure and test it

We set the receiver up for the base, rover or radio configuration you asked for and verify it works before it goes in the case.

Step 4

It ships to your job

A field-ready system arrives with return instructions and a prepaid return label where applicable.

Security authorization and rental period

How the authorization and the clock work

Refundable security authorization

A refundable security authorization is placed on your payment card before equipment ships β€” $1,000 for the R580, $2,000 for the R12i and R780 Model 2, $2,500 for the R750 Model 2 package. It is held separately from your rental charges, it is not an additional rental fee, and it is released after the equipment is returned and inspected, subject to the rental agreement.

Your rental period

Your rental runs from the start date to the end date recorded on your rental agreement. Tell us the date you expect to ship the equipment back and we will set the end date to match. If your dates change, contact us before the end date and we will re-rate the rental on the same tier logic.

Insurance and commercial accounts

A Certificate of Insurance naming 9JA Enterprise LLC as Additional Insured is required before equipment is released. Alternative arrangements for established commercial accounts are reviewed case by case and are not automatic. Full terms are in the rental agreement.

Why rent from 9JA

The people packing your rental repair these receivers

Tested, not just wiped down

Every unit is powered up, checked for GNSS tracking, radio function and battery health before it is packed. You get field-ready equipment, not a gamble.

Configured for your job

Tell us base, rover or RTK pair and the radio band, and it arrives set up that way. We license base and rover options for your rental dates rather than shipping you a receiver that cannot do what you need.

Support from technicians

Board-level Trimble repair has been our core business since 2008. If something is odd in the field, the person answering the phone has had that receiver open on a bench.

Nothing missing from the box

Antennas, cables, chargers, adapters and mounting hardware are packed against a checklist for the configuration you ordered.

Published rates

Daily, weekly and 28-day pricing on this page. We apply the tier that is cheapest for your rental length instead of multiplying days.

Buy it if you keep renting it

If a rental turns into a long-term need, we sell the same models β€” browse GNSS receivers for sale or ask us to apply rental credit toward a purchase.

Rates

Professional equipment. Lower rental rates.

9JA sources and services its own equipment fleet, which lets us operate with lower overhead than many traditional rental channels. That is what allows us to offer professional Trimble GNSS equipment at aggressive published rates without cutting corners on testing or support. Every unit still gets the same bench check before it ships, and you still get a technician on the phone if something is odd in the field.

Found a lower published rate?

Send us a current advertised rental rate for the same Trimble model and a comparable rental package from a professional U.S. equipment rental company. If we can verify the offer, we'll do our best to beat it.

Comparable equipment, rental duration, enabled options and accessories required. Subject to fleet availability. Excludes auctions, private-party rentals, long-term negotiated leases and non-public fleet-contract pricing.

Questions

Trimble GNSS rental FAQ

Can I rent a Trimble GPS for one day?

Yes. One day is the minimum. The R580 starts at $89 per day and the R12i at $129 per day. If your job runs four days or longer, the weekly rate is usually cheaper than the day count, and we apply whichever tier costs you less. Minimum rental periods vary by equipment β€” some scanners and total stations have longer minimums, so check the individual rental page for that item.

How quickly can you ship a rental?

If the receiver is in the fleet and your rental is approved, we can usually prepare, test and ship the same or next business day. Expedited and next-day carrier services are available depending on destination and cutoff time. Send your dates and we will tell you exactly what delivery date is achievable.

Can you ship a Trimble rental to Dallas, Austin or San Antonio?

Yes. Rentals ship from our Houston / Cypress facility to anywhere in Texas β€” Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin, San Antonio, Waco, Midland, Lubbock and the rest. Fast ground and expedited shipping options are available throughout Texas. Send us the delivery ZIP and required date and we'll confirm the best shipping option.

Do you rent Trimble GPS equipment in Houston?

Yes. Houston-area customers can have equipment delivered, and local pickup can be arranged in Cypress and may be the fastest option for urgent projects, subject to availability and rental approval.

Do you ship rental equipment to Oklahoma and neighboring states?

Yes β€” Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Norman, Lawton and the rest of Oklahoma, plus Louisiana, New Mexico, Arkansas and nationwide across all 50 states.

What comes with the GNSS receiver?

Every receiver rental includes two batteries, a dual-bay charger, the appropriate radio antenna, quick-connect adapter, required cables and a hard case. The R750 Model 2 package adds the Zephyr Model 3 antenna, antenna cable, tribrach and adapter, tripod and field power equipment. The exact contents are listed on each card above.

Can I rent a complete base and rover?

Yes. We build matched RTK pairs β€” R750 base with an R12i or R780 rover, or matched R12i or R780 pairs β€” and test them together before shipping so the radio settings and firmware agree. Package pricing depends on the receivers, radio band and rental length, so we quote it. Use the reservation form and select "base and rover".

Which Trimble receiver should I rent?

Short version: the R580 is the lowest-cost rover. The R12i is a survey-focused 450 MHz rover or base with TIP tilt compensation. The R780 Model 2 adds dual-band UHF and 900 MHz alongside tilt, and is the value pick when you need both bands. The R980 is the premium integrated receiver β€” dual-band radio, tilt and built-in 4G LTE. The R750 Model 2 is the complete modular base-station package. Tell us the job and we will pick with you.

What's the difference between the Trimble R780 and R980?

Both use Trimble ProPoint positioning, TIP IMU tilt compensation and 450/900 MHz dual-band radio, and Trimble publishes the same 8 mm horizontal / 15 mm vertical RTK precision for both. The R980 is Trimble's premium integrated receiver and adds a built-in 4G LTE modem for VRS and internet corrections without a separate device, on the newest platform. The R780 Model 2 has no integrated cellular modem β€” it connects through Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or your controller β€” and remains the lower-cost choice when you want dual-band radio and tilt without moving up to the R980.

What is the difference between an R12i and an R780 Model 2?

Both have ProPoint GNSS and TIP IMU tilt compensation, and both run as base or rover. The practical difference is the radio: the R12i uses a 450 MHz UHF radio, while the R780 Model 2 in our fleet is configured with UHF plus 900 MHz spread spectrum. If the site may run either band, or you do not know what the base is broadcasting on, take the R780. In the United States, 900 MHz spread-spectrum operation is commonly used where 450 MHz is congested; outside the U.S., radio band rules differ by country and are the renter's responsibility.

Does the R580 have tilt compensation?

No. The R580 does not have Trimble TIP IMU tilt compensation. You level the pole as normal. If you need to shoot points off level, rent the R12i or the R780 Model 2.

Can the R580 transmit UHF corrections?

No. The R580's 450 MHz UHF radio is receive-only β€” it can take corrections from a base broadcasting on 450 MHz, but it cannot broadcast them. It is a rover. For a base, use the R750 Model 2, R12i or R780 Model 2.

Can I add a survey pole?

Yes. A 2 m carbon-fiber survey pole is $10 per day, $35 per week or $75 for 28 days with the R580, R12i and R780 Model 2 β€” tick the add-on box on the reservation form and it ships with the receiver. The R980 kit already includes one pole per receiver, so you only pay for extras beyond that.

Do you provide TSC5 or TSC7 controllers?

Data collectors are available with a rental subject to availability, and we quote them with your receiver. Tell us which Trimble Access version and workflow you need and we will configure the controller before it ships.

Do you rent equipment internationally?

Yes, by arrangement. Shipping, customs, insurance and security authorizations vary by destination, so international rentals are handled manually rather than through instant checkout. Contact us with your destination and dates.

Is a security authorization required?

Yes β€” a refundable security authorization is placed on your payment card before equipment ships: $1,000 for the R580, $2,000 for the R12i and R780 Model 2, and $2,500 for the R750 Model 2 package. It is held separately from the rental charges, it is not an additional rental fee, and it is released after the equipment is returned and inspected, subject to the rental agreement. A Certificate of Insurance naming 9JA Enterprise LLC as Additional Insured is required before equipment is released. Arrangements for established commercial accounts are reviewed case by case and are not automatic.

When does my rental period begin and end?

Your rental runs from the start date to the end date recorded on your rental agreement. Tell us the date you expect to ship the equipment back and we will set the end date to match. If the job runs long, contact us before the end date and we will extend and re-rate it.

What happens if I need the equipment longer?

Call or email before your end date and we will extend it. Extensions are re-rated on the same tier logic, so rolling from six days into a second week is charged at the weekly rate rather than stacked daily charges.

Can you help configure the equipment for my project?

Yes, and it costs nothing. Tell us the job β€” boundary, topo, layout, utility, GIS, machine control checks β€” plus what controller and correction source you have, and we will set the receiver up for it and confirm the setup with you before it ships.
