Credentials

Default Login Credentials

These credentials work for both the Wi-Fi and Ethernet connection methods. Change the admin password after first login.

Account Username Password Access level
Admin admin password Full access — all settings
Guest guest guest Read-only — status and firmware info
△ Note — credentials unknown? If login credentials have been changed and are unknown, a factory reset via the receiver's power button sequence will restore defaults. This also resets all network and configuration settings.
Method 1

Wi-Fi Connection (Wireless)

The R750 broadcasts its own Wi-Fi access point — no router or external network needed. Connect your laptop or tablet directly to the receiver's hotspot.

1

Power on the R750

  • Press and hold the power button until the LED ring illuminates.
  • Wait 60–90 seconds for full boot. The Wi-Fi LED (radio icon) should glow steady white when the hotspot is active.
2

Connect your computer or tablet to the R750 Wi-Fi

  • Open your OS Wi-Fi settings (Windows: system tray → Network icon).
  • Look for the network named: Trimble GNSS XXXX (where XXXX = last 4 digits of the serial number).
  • Select the network and enter the Wi-Fi passphrase when prompted.
💡 Wi-Fi password — firmware version matters Firmware before v6.43: Default Wi-Fi password is abcdeabcde

Firmware v6.43 and later: The Wi-Fi password is the full device serial number (e.g. 5810012345). This is case sensitive — enter it exactly as printed on the receiver label. If abcdeabcde does not work, try the full serial number.
3

Open the WebUI in your browser

  • Open Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari.
  • In the address bar, type the following and press Enter:
http://192.168.142.1
4

  • The R750 WebUI login page will appear.
  • Enter: Username: admin    Password: password
  • Click Log In to access the dashboard.
💡 Page won't load? Open a Command Prompt (Windows) and run: ping 192.168.142.1 — if you get replies, the receiver is reachable and the issue is browser-related. Try clearing browser cache or using an incognito/private window. Disable any VPN software.

Wi-Fi — Quick Reference

SSID (network name) Trimble GNSS XXXX  (last 4 digits of serial)
Wi-Fi password (firmware < v6.43) abcdeabcde  (factory default, firmware before v6.43)
Wi-Fi password (firmware v6.43+) Full serial number — CASE SENSITIVE

Method 2

Ethernet Direct Cable Connection

The R750 supports Ethernet via a Trimble LEMO data cable (P/N 54693-00) that breaks out to an RJ-45 connector. This method is faster and more stable — recommended for WinFlash firmware upgrades and option file loading.

1

Obtain the correct cable

  • You need the Trimble LEMO-to-Ethernet data cable, P/N 54693-00.
  • One end is a LEMO 7-pin connector (plugs into the R750 data port). The other end is a standard RJ-45.
  • A Trimble docking station or GEO cradle with an Ethernet port also works.
2

Connect cable and power on the R750

  • Plug the LEMO end firmly into the R750 data port — align the red dot.
  • Connect the RJ-45 end to your laptop's Ethernet port (or a USB-to-Ethernet adapter).
  • Power on the R750 and wait 60–90 seconds for full boot.
  • The link LED on your Ethernet adapter should show solid or blinking green when connected.
3

Set your PC to a static IP address

  • Windows: Right-click Start → Network Connections → right-click your Ethernet adapter → Properties.
  • Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) → Properties.
  • Choose "Use the following IP address" and enter these values:
Field Value to enter
IP Address 192.168.1.100
Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway 192.168.1.1  (or leave blank)
DNS Servers (leave blank)
4

Open the WebUI in your browser

  • Open Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari.
  • Enter the R750's default Ethernet IP address:
http://192.168.1.20
💡 IP not responding? If 192.168.1.20 doesn't load, try 192.168.0.20 or 192.168.1.1. You can also check the current Ethernet IP via the Wi-Fi WebUI under Settings → Network. Disable Wi-Fi on your PC while using Ethernet to prevent routing conflicts.
5

  • The WebUI login page will load — same credentials as Wi-Fi.
  • Username: admin    Password: password
  • Click Log In.

Troubleshooting

Common Issues & Fixes

Problem Likely cause Fix
Wi-Fi network not visible in device list Receiver still booting or Wi-Fi disabled Wait 90 seconds after power-on. Confirm Wi-Fi LED is steady. Power cycle if needed.
Browser: "This site can't be reached" PC not on receiver subnet or wrong IP Confirm PC is connected to the R750 hotspot. Run: ping 192.168.142.1 from Command Prompt.
Wi-Fi password rejected Firmware v6.43+ changed the default password Enter the full serial number as the password — it is case sensitive. Check the label on the receiver.
Login page won't accept credentials Password was changed from factory default Try "trimble" or "abcdeabcde". Last resort: factory reset restores defaults.
Ethernet: no link light on adapter Wrong cable type or damaged LEMO pin Verify cable P/N 54693-00. Inspect LEMO pins carefully — bent pins are common on used units.
Ethernet: page loads then drops IP conflict or Windows reverting to DHCP Confirm static IP is saved correctly. Disable Wi-Fi on PC to force Ethernet-only routing.
WebUI loads blank or only partially Browser cache issue or compatibility Hard-refresh: Ctrl+Shift+R (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+R (Mac). Try an incognito or private window.
WinFlash can't see the R750 over Ethernet WinFlash using wrong IP or Windows Firewall blocking Set WinFlash connection IP to 192.168.1.20. Temporarily disable Windows Firewall for testing.
